Opening Prayer

Holy God, You are so confusing! You uplift and save us. You are the hope within us and promise that we will live and shine forever. I feel so uplifted when I listen to Peter’s letter. I believe it is You shining within. But then when I face Jesus, I get scared and embarrassed. I want to bring before you that I keep the laws and commandments. I am basically good and do the minimum. Yet you stare at me and ask more – that I give up everything to love you. My face and spirit fall. Why do you demand so much! Why do you want all of me? I’m grateful that you can do the impossible, because my duplicity would cripple my salvation, Lord! Take me where I’m afraid to go! Your infinite possibilities are our only hope!
