Opening Prayer

Generous God, You are a Gardener. We are Your garden. You scatter Your seed of life to provide for all.  You take tender shoots and replant them in high places. You ennoble trees with their verdant branches which can be a place of refuge and nourishment for the birds of the air. You take the littlest thing and transform it into something majestic. You are the Life-Source, Gracious God!  Even broken and withered seedlings and struggling plants you bring back to life to blossom in your glory. We, Your people, are blossoming into eternal life and glory, with Your whole creation, because You are so present and attentive and alive in our midst. You meticulously take care of us all so we grow and blossom and ripen. We are not lost in the garden, Good God. Like St. Thérèse, we know and believe that our littleness is where You blossom. Because You dwell and live in us, we are connected with the whole creation – with all life – enormous beyond imagining as we groan and grow to the full revelation.

Teach us to love and reverence our Dads today, as reflections of Your fathering love for us!
