Opening Prayer

Wonderful God, you are so generous with Your compassion. In Jesus, waters satiate our thirsty souls. New rivers of life and hope flow through the deserts and valleys of our lives. In Christ is our refreshment and Your compassion. Teach us not to judge others until we are as compassionate as You are. Jesus, calm the insecurity and hatred which causes us to lift stones and hurl hardened judgments at each other. Lift the burden by humbling us with the awesome gift of Your saving presence among us in Christ. Teach us not to condemn, knowing that you will not condemn. Give us the generosity of Your loving heart.
