Opening Prayer
God of the Covenant, thank you for being faithful to us – for promising never to again overwhelm us so that we drown. Thank You for rainbows which announce Your faithful love and future promise. You have plucked us from the chaos of self- destruction and sin into the ark of Your salvation. Jesus is Your rainbow and He shines in us. Like him, we sometimes find ourselves in the desert wrestling with angelic and demonic urges and voices within and beyond us. Keep us faithful to Your voice and Your call. Empower us through this Lenten journey to believe, with even more conviction, that Your reign is at hand. Keep us faithful in this time of desert purification and bring us a deeper dose of Your life.
