Opening Prayer

Owner of the Vineyard, You are a gracious and generous God.  You have invited us to share Your life, and be tenants who till Your garden until the full harvest.  I am awed and humbled by the powerful way You invest us with Your life and creative power.  Yet sometimes we twist reality and come to believe that this is our world.  I move beyond responsible stewardship to selfish ownership and recreate the world as mine.  I am sorry.  I acknowledge that we sometimes ignore and even persecute those You send to remind us of Your ownership and our responsibilities.  InSpirit us with wisdom not to repeat our selfish past and kill again Your beloved by the way we treat each other.  Instill us with wonder and humility before the responsibilities You entrust us with and empower us for.
