Opening Prayer

Lord, sometimes we are blind like Tobit – whether by bird droppings from our life experience or from the treatment of others! Our vision sometimes gets so twisted. Our life experience warps our perception and becomes suspicious of others and their motives. We become uncomfortable with love freely offered and look for the strings attached. Free us from the confusing blindness and biased perception which causes cataracts in our spirit, distorting our outlook. You were so clever, Jesus, walking through the tightrope of their trick question. Give us the vision to discern what is Caesar’s and what is God’s. This is the source of so much of our confusing blindness today. Teach us to see your truth, to eat what you give us and weave into our life’s efforts.
