Opening Prayer
God of gentle and lasting love, thank You for loving us. I’m sorry for the confusing expectations we have of You and Your Son. Sometimes we expect religion to be serious, stern, disciplined, and abstained from things. Other times, we want You to be inclusive, spontaneous, embracing and celebrating. Lost in our expectations, we miss You. Give us the wisdom to know the movement of Your Spirit within and among us. Teach and help us sing the song of Your love in the rhythm of our lives. Thank You for the uplifting power of love which energizes and fulfills us. Refine us and empower us that we may be like You, because You are love!
