Opening Prayer

Jesus, Risen Glorious before God, sometimes we are such cowards. We believe, yet we are so shallow! We need a powerful dose of your Spirit of Courage, Wisdom and Passion. Lay your hands on us. Baptize us anew in your life and birthing struggle! Anoint us anew as your followers – the earthly tabernacles of your Spirit. Empower us to trust your victory over evil and to work for your reign in the power of your Spirit. Fill our cowardice with your courage. Fill our emptiness with your energy. Fill our spirit with your Spirit! Shine in us, Lord Jesus!

This day, in 1883, young St. Therese was healed by Our Lady of the Smile.
Loving God, may You smile on us and help us to smile amid the tensions, dyings and risings that are your Paschal Mystery happening within us.  Heal the hurts of your Body, your growing vine.
