Opening Prayer

Nurturing God, like Elijah we sometimes get tired, depressed and confused. We simply want to give up. Life becomes burdensome. We feel empty. But You never let us die or wallow long in weariness. You shake us and feed us – giving us Your energy and food. Your life enables us to move forward in the values of Your reign, not sinking into the darkness, sinfulness and violence of this world. You are our manna, Lord Jesus. Your Body and Blood are food for the journey. You are living bread who nourishes the possibility of greater life. I’m sorry for the times I doubt that in You there is energy and life beyond the human experience. I’m so used to simply relying on my own limited resources. You are the bread of life! Because of You, we journey on to God’s holy mountain. Thank you!
