Opening Prayer
Lord Jesus, give me a child’s trust that I can learn to sit still in God’s lap with loving confidence and trust. Teach me to trust You as the God of today and the God of tomorrow. Trust is hard for me, you know. Empower me to take the risk today. Sometimes I am so overwhelmed and frightened by my weakness, needs, and powerlessness. Gentle me to be comfortable with my weaknesses, needs, fears, brokenness, because they are the place you work best. Teach me the lesson of your Cross, that I can taste heaven rather than the darkness of fear. Gentle me to sit in God’s strong lap today.
