Opening Prayer

Lord, the images of Revelation are frightful and confusing. Will it be such a struggle? Aren’t the trials of our present life enough? Give us courage and hope to survive and believe. Give us a faith that trusts You as the God of Life, transcending the struggles of human history. Empower us to be embraced by the Resurrection of Jesus and how he conquered all evil, demonic and destructive forces. Focus us on the future fulfillment of Your reign, without obsessing on whom we will be with. You and You alone will connect us with all life and all possibilities. In our darkest and most frightening times, give us hope in Your life-giving and protective presence.
