Opening Prayer
God of the Ages, Your voice is loud! Your voice is so gentle! Your voice beckons. Sometimes I think I hear you in the night and in my nightmares. Or are they my dreams? Other people have pointed toward You. Your voice calls in powerful whispers that move me – and in challenges which scare me. Give me today the courage to discern your voice and respond: “Speak, for your servant is listening.” I want to follow you and be your companion, like the disciples were. Make me attentive to the signs and whispers which speak your will and call. Awaken me so that I do not sleepwalk through life.
