Opening Prayer
God of the Ages, Your voice is loud! Your voice is so gentle! Your voice beckons. Sometimes I think I hear you in the night in in my nightmares. Or are they my dreams? Other people have pointed toward You. Your voice calls in powerful whispers that move me – and in challenges which scare me. Give me today the courage to discern your voice and respond: “Speak, for your servant is listening.” Make me your companion, like the disciples were. Make me attentive to the signs and whispers which speak your will and call. Awaken me so that I do not sleepwalk through life.
