Opening Prayer

God Who is Place and God Who is Journey, like Abram and Sarah, You keep calling us from our comfortable settled places onto unsettling and challenging journeys. You are calling us closer to You, and to be more flexible and open to being Your transfiguring blessing in the world. Continue to free us to be instruments of Your covenant and promise. Keep us faithful to the pilgrimage of faith so that we can follow and live the paschal mystery of Jesus. Be our strength in the hard times. Take us through the clouds of self-doubt and preoccupation to Your holy mountain, where we can see Your glory and presence. Transfigure our cloudy and confused spirits so that we are not afraid to follow Jesus through the times of trial, tribulation and stretching. Even though we want to camp and pitch tents where we are, You tell us to move! Be our strength and the light during and at the end of the journey.
