Opening Prayer

Jesus, you really came to change and uplift us. You set the standards high for the proper behaviors of Your followers. You ask us to be as compassionate as God. I do get nervous that You promise to treat us the way we treat one another. You have placed great trust in us and empower us to be Your sisters and brothers by the Presence of Your Spirit within and among us. Like David, teach us to reverence your anointed people, whether we see them as friend or foe. Thank You for Your Faith in us and for the Presence of Your heavenly, life-giving Spirit who uplifts, expands and frees us.
