Opening Prayer

Jesus, you must get disgusted with us as you were with the Pharisees of old. We continue to want new signs and new wonders. Our memory is so short; our needs so great! Teach us to trust you. InSpirit us with perseverance, especially at times of darkness and emptiness. Stretch our hearts and spirits until we trust you! Help us embrace the disappointments, frustrations, challenges and darkness as signs of your calling us beyond. I try so often to rely solely on my own resources, Lord! No wonder I feel empty, helpless and dried up sometimes. Teach me to trust you and your saving presence within, among and beyond.
