Opening Prayer

Blessed Jesus, You are the Alpha and the Omega, even when we sometimes seem caught in the middle. Give us the hope-filled faith of Stephen, who sees your coming and presence amid tragedy, misunderstanding and darkness. In the power of Your Spirit of forgiveness, help us not to hold the darkness, disappointments, and dysfunctions of others against them, even when they hurt us. Come quickly, like a bridegroom chasing Your bride. We desire to be wanted, loved and embraced, Lord Jesus. “May Your Kingdom Come” daily echoes in our hearts and human experience. Come quickly! Come now! Heal our world. Heal our hearts! Thank You for being beyond and within us, Beloved One. Help us to live the tension of your beyondness and the hope of your closeness.

Today we celebrate St. Therese receiving permission from her father to enter Carmel.  Give me her bold confidence in following you, Lord of Love.
