Opening Prayer
You really do trust us, Jesus! Thank you! As you go home to God, there is a part of me that feels empty and lost. I want to hang onto you and grab your heel, begging you to stay. I know that you promised to be with us, but your physical presence would help so much. I so often look heavenward for you to do something. Teach me to look for your presence and powerful Spirit here in the world of my human experience – in the gifts and crevices of life. Humble me to know that Your Spirit, God’s Spirit, comes and dwells within and around me, permeating our world, empowering us to create your reign of justice, reconciliation and peace. Continue to be with us, Lord Jesus, and help your whole Body ascend with you to God’s heart in the new Jerusalem.
