Opening Prayer

Your manifestation is awesome! The searcher in me is saddle sore from long desert rides in darkness. Thank you for revealing your light and glory. Thank you for bringing us to Jerusalem — your peace! There is some alluring brilliance which calls out to us to journey — to follow stars – to see your glory.

At times we despair of the long nights of darkness. Our eyes are frightened of the brilliant light — but our hearts know the truth and embrace the wisdom which drives our search. Deafen us to the cynicism and paranoia of the powerful of the world who think it is all about themselves and their security.

May your divine spark within us be the radar which follows the Bethlehem Star. We are so enriched by your gifts of golden dignity as Your royal children, of frankincense which sanctifies us in You, and of myrrh which speaks of death to false self and demonic values so that Your glorious presence may sparkle in us and in our world.

Help us not to weary through the long nights, God of light. We seek your manifestation. I need your revelation of glory, Good God of embracing compassion.

Happy Birthday, St. Therese. In 1873, God blessed the Martin family and us with your life and journey on earth.
