Opening Prayer

God of Goodness, everything You create is good for us, even though we seem to make some of it toxic and deadly. Is it the way we use and misuse Your creation? Do You smile or grimace the way we grab things and use them, or even let them possess us? InSpirit us again today that we might follow Jesus and his self-emptying freedom. Give us the confidence and humility to touch him so that the hemorrhaging of our life might cease. Eradicate our cynicism which does not believe in the miracles of your saving and healing power. Touch the dead and dying parts of us and raise us up to new life of innocence, wonder and child-like confidence in you. Restore the goodness You created of us that we might share God’s life and love. Touch our deadly afflictions and addictions, healing Jesus, Good God!
