Opening Prayer

Creative and life-giving God, You love us like our Mom and Dad, and even more. You gather us into your arms and call us from exile or alienation which separates us from you. Your arms are so welcoming! Your touch is so warm! Your outreach is so wide! Jesus is Your Priest and our brother. He took on our sinful and weak humanity so that You could understand us from the inside out. In Him, we are Yours. Touch us again, Creative One, with Your healing touch. Clear up cataracts which warp our perception and cloud our vision. Heal whatever blindness prevents us from seeing You in the people and experiences of our lives. Heal the individuating blindness which prevents me from seeing that everyone is Your child and all of us are Your children. We are Your family, Mother and Father. All people are my sisters and brothers. Be compassionate to Your whole family – to each of us and all of us! You are a faithful, tactile, and ever-present Parent. Thank You!
