First Scripture Reading
Revelation 15: 1-4
Gospel Reading
Luke 21: 12-19

Opening Prayer

Jesus, You did cause division among people who followed You. You still cause division today, because You demand integrity, truth, freedom, love and justice. Keep us faithful in the dark times of rejection, misunderstanding, violence, silence, and even death. Enlighten us to see the dawn instead of darkness. Amid the confusing array of plagues and angels, fire and glass, beast and harps, help me to acknowledge You as God Almighty – the One Who is holy and Whose works and ways are wonderful, even if I don’t understand them. You are the only One Who keeps us all together.
