Opening Prayer
Sometimes we suspect that you are sleeping, Lord Jesus. The seas of our lives are in turmoil, we feel ungrounded. We wonder why you don’t do something right away. Yet, we believe that you are not a sleeping giant, but a roaring lion. You have been speaking, shouting and revealing your plans throughout our corporate and personal history. Yet, we so often miss the point. But you continue to roar loudly in the depths of our hearts and heritage, calling us closer to you and to greater fidelity to your reign among us. Give us faith not to panic but to listen to your roaring in our lives. Calm our fears so that we can hear the gentle whispers of your will in our lives. InSpirit us to trust you as the God of all creation.
