Opening Prayer
Yes, Lord Jesus, You are so present within and among us that in gathering as Your Body, You become present. Thank You for being so present to us. Give us a grace-filled sense of Your integrity and our unity, amid the diversity of gifts, ministries, personalities, cultures, and responsibilities. Help us be one in You, Lord Jesus. Teach us to respect different gifts and not tout ourselves as more important. Give us a sense of the unity of Your work. As You raised the only son of a widowed mother, raise us to a new life of higher values of unity, reconciliation, respect, and justice. Our pettiness, insecurity, and self-centeredness kill the life of Your Spirit within and among us, Jesus. Raise us back to life and empower us to so act from Your Spirit that people will proclaim: “God has visited His people!”
