Opening Prayer

Generous God of Mercy, we are so dumb and shortsighted sometimes. We grasp for more, even as we experience deeper emptiness. Give us the faith to know that You are the treasure. Instead of the toys, resources and blessings we fill ourselves with and define ourselves by, teach us the wisdom of true wealth. Embrace our emptiness with Your generous mercy. Your favor envelopes, warms and fills us. Expand within us and among us, Generous God, until You fill everything and create the fullness of Your reign.
