Opening Prayer

Teach us to pray Lord Jesus. Give us the simplicity and child-like innocence to speak in conversation with Abba our Father, in both praise and petition. Give us the courage of Paul to stand up for convictions born of Your inspiration, even when institutionalized religion gets hung up on the small stuff. InSpirit us with the courage of Your convictions on issues that shrink rather than expand Your message and reign. Keep us connected with You as the source of life and our access to the Holy. And please do not listen too carefully to the Our Fathers we pray, because we don’t want you to forgive us in the same way as we forgive each other. Please be more merciful and forgiving than I am!
