Opening Prayer

Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Therese, it is your feast day.  I’m so sorry that it is being overridden by the Sunday celebration.  But we still celebrate you and your entrance into heaven — the beginning of your incredible ministry to us from the heavenly garden.  Continue to help pour forth the Spirit of prophecy that we might embrace and proclaim the truth of God’s saving love and power.  InSpirit us with justice that we might create God’s reign here on earth, so that we might enjoy it with you in heaven.  Humble us with transforming love that we might not scandalize any of God’s innocent children nor compromise the transforming power of God’s Spirit.  Help us to be faithful to the values of God’s reign, St. Therese, that we might continue your mission of making God known and loved in simple, powerful ways.  HAPPY FEAST DAY!  Thanks for being our friend!
