Tuesday of the Twenty-sixth Week in Ordinary Time

Opening Prayer

Lord, we get so judgmental about others, especially those of other faiths.  Why do we get so righteous?  Why don’t we trust that they might be following the faith and paths You are calling them along.  Give us ecumenical and catholic hearts which respect the beliefs and faith journeys of others.  May our attitudes and behaviors speak powerfully of Your transforming presence so that they attract others to You and our faith.  Humble us not to destroy others by our condemnations and false judgments.  Like Jesus, help us travel through foreign and even hostile territories to understand, not to destroy.  InSpirit us not to be afraid of the mysterious and wonderful ways You work among people and other faiths and religions.
